# How shopper photos are handled

## Upload

When a shopper clicks "Try it on" and uploads a photo:

1. The photo is sent directly from their browser to Wearo's API over HTTPS
2. The photo is passed to the AI model for generation
3. The result image is stored and returned

## Storage

| Data | Stored? | Duration |
| ----------------------------- | ------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| Original shopper photo | No | Deleted immediately after generation |
| Generated result image | Yes | 30 days (see [data retention](/privacy/data-retention)) |
| Metadata (timestamp, product) | Yes | 90 days |

Shopper photos are **never permanently stored** by Wearo. They are used only
for the generation and discarded immediately after.

## AI processing

Photos are processed by a third-party AI model under a data processing agreement.
The AI provider does not use submitted photos for model training.

## Transfer outside EU

Wearo's infrastructure is hosted in the EU. If AI processing occurs outside the EU,
it is governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
